Yeah, I know I've been MIA...

we're going to settlement on our new house June 1, so I've been a bit busy packing (and sorting, and organzing, an generally doing things I HATE to do.)

I did take a break for the MSWF, which was just about heaven on earth, i tell ya. All that yarn, all those sheep, oh! I was very (very!) restrained and only bought 4 skeins of yarn. Two in a really wonderful brick red wool to make myself a felted hat, and then a skein of Duet that I handpainted and am making a shawl with.

here's the work in progress:

overalls for my boy (and the site, LOL!)

so I'm just about finished with the sample (gotta love knitting samples that will fit my little guy) for the site. THese are SOOO stinkin' cute!! I lvoe them. It's TLC cotton plus yarn, which is quite inexpensive and I like the way it knits up a LOT.

I'm bamboo...

yup, I think that's about right, too.

bamboo
You are bamboo.

Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and
enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. You
love the craft and beauty of traditional
things, and you value the comfort and
experience of knitting as much as the results.
But while you are reveling in your warm cozies,
don't get stuck. Warm is wonderful, but so is
the whole wide world!

What kind of knitting needles are you?

So, I've been swatching like crazy for lots of spring/summer designs. Loving on Mission falls 1824 cotton right now, and surprising, also loving on TLC's Cotton Plus (way cheaper that the 1824, LOL!) Will have some goodies to show in a week or so.

Motoring along on Rogue's sleeve. Using the yarn I have on the site, in bark, and it is truly stunning. Me like!

In other news, we just got news yesterday that our bid for a new house (our first that's not rented!!) was accepted, so on May 26th we officially become homeonwners. Here's a link to a pic (too big to put here and bore you all) so if you want to see, check it out: Our House

That's it for now, folks!

Showing off my handiwork...

yeah, the sweater is pretty cute, too ;) I knit this sweater for Greg when he was in the NICU and I was going mad trying to keep myslef busy in there when I couldn't hold him. I am in love! It's the first thing I grab for whenever we're going out, or when it's cold in the house (which is always these days with the temps so freakin' low!) So, if you like it, it's up on the site now, available with just the pattern or in a kit with yarn to complete. The yarn in the pic is Bernat's Denim. I usually hate anything acrylic, but I am in love with this yarn. Mostly cotton wiht a touch of acrylic, it's so incredibly soft! I'm shocked at how nice it worked up and how soft it feels. Plus, I'm a sucker for the ragg look.

thinking spring...

I started swatching last week for a new line of spring designs (yes, I am well aware it's 5 degrees outside, but I'm an optimist. Its gotta get warm sometime, doesn't it?) Anyway, I fianlly hit on the right gauge and drape for the yarn I'm using (yes, it's a secret right now, will be debuting on the site soon!) and am loving the way it looks. I've started working on the actual design, but I'll give you a sneak peek at the swatch here:

So, anyone care to venture a guess as to what I'm designing? If you guess right I might just offer a prize ;)

babymoon...

I'm sure you've all been wondering where the heck I've been. Well, wonder no more! I've been babymooning :) Gregory Christian was born on December 13th via c-section (he was breech) at 8: 31 pm, weighing in at 4 pounds 15 ounces and 18 inches (which is huge considering that he was almost 8 weeks early!) he spent 18 days in the NICU, and came home on new Year's Day. He's such an amazing baby!! So placid and calm, NOTHING like my other two guys who were hell on wheels from the get go. He's nursing very well (the NICU nurses told me not to expect much cause preemies usually have problems and "almost never" nurse exclusively-they obviosuly didn't know I was a staunch boobies activist, LOL) Well, he's been nursing exclusively since the day he came home, and he's gaining weight like a prize fighter.

Here he is a few days after he was born:

And here he is at home yesterday:

Gotta run, he wants to eat again!!
